A determined group of pupils from Newcastle School for Boys have donated the proceeds of their record breaking 'selfie' feat to the Alan Shearer Foundation and were delighted to visit to the Alan Shearer Centre to hand over the cheque.

The group raised the incredible total of £665 with their resolute efforts to break the Guinness World Record for the most selfies taken in three minutes. After just three attempts, they were delighted to succeed, with a total of 134 selfies taken in three minutes.

Head of the School's Early Years and Infants, Mrs Woosnam, accompanied the group to hand over the cheque and everyone enjoyed a tour of the Centre where they were impressed with the specialist facilities and enjoyed trying out some of the equipment.

Their welcome donation to the Foundation will help keep our Alan Shearer Centre at the forefront of specialist facilities available in the region for people with disabilities. A huge thank you to everyone who took part in raising funds for us – and well done!
