The Great North Run

The world’s greatest half marathon (13.1 miles) will take you from the centre of Newcastle, past thousands of supporters cheering you on to the finish line in South Shields.

The Alan Shearer Foundation, launched exclusively to support the Alan Shearer Activity Centre, needs your help to raise at least £250,000 every year to cover the overhead running costs of the Centre. The funds raised will ensure disabled people and their families continue to benefit from the specialist facilities at the Centre totally free of charge; making it the only Centre of its kind in the region.
