Probably the Best Golf in the World for United Carlton

The Alan Shearer Foundation would like to thank North East company United Carlton, who took to the greens of Close House on 18 September to raise funds for the Foundation recently.

The day saw the 17, four-ball teams raise £2,500, which United Carlton kindly matched to bring the total to an incredible £5,000 overall.

Players at the popular golf course had the opportunity to purchase mulligans in the form of balloons featuring the Foundation's logo- and to take part various challenges at selected points throughout the course, giving them the opportunity to make the next hole slightly easier- in exchange for a donation to the cause.

As well as showcasing their golfing abilities, United Carlton also demonstrated their company's marketing skills by providing bottles of beer with specially branded labels. The beers were presented by glamorous assistants wearing t-shirts with the same tongue in cheek logo at pop up bars throughout the course.

Furthering the light-hearted and fun atmosphere, United Carlton also commissioned a video to be made on the day, featuring the guests singing lines of the Queen classic "Bohemian Rhapsody".
