A Tyneside legend is set in bronze

12 September 2016

Alan's statue outside St James' Park

Alan's stature as a Tyneside legend is set in stone, but now it's also set in bronze.

Alan says he was "very proud and honoured" to be asked to unveil a nine foot sculpture of himself in his Newcastle United days, which now stands outside St James' Park. The statue captures his famous salute to the fans which is probably the most familiar image of Alan during his years at the club. Alan now stands proudly alongside the other two NUFC legends, Sir Bobby Robson and Jackie Milburn.

Congratulations Alan, from everyone involved with your Foundation.
